Activities
We have a variety of regular groups which meet as part of our church family life. Groups cater for all different needs and all different ages. It isn't easy to get to know everyone in the church family, but regular groups make it possible for you to meet new people and to get to know them.
Home Groups
Home groups are groups of church members (usually no more than twelve) who meet together in people’s homes in order to get to know each other better, study the Bible and apply it to daily life, offer mutual support and worship God and pray together. In a way they are like church in miniature.
They usually meet fortnightly, with different groups on different evenings in the week, and there is one day-time group. The meetings run in a relaxed, informal atmosphere, and we see them as a key building block in the life of the church.
New members are always welcome – so if you would like to join a group or would simply like to find out more, just ask at the church office or speak to the vicar, Simon.
Church Prayer Life
On the 4th Tuesday of every month we have our church prayer meeting from 7:45 pm to 9:00 pm in the Church Lounge.
Some church members pray together in what are known as prayer triplets.
We have a confidential prayer chain. In the 1st instance please phone either the curate, Penny –Tel: 356722 – or the Vicar, Simon – Tel: 363657 – if you would like to ask for prayer for yourself or someone else.
Prayer Ministry
At all our morning services and at the evening service of Holy Communion, there is the opportunity for anyone who wishes to receive confidential prayer from members of our Ministry Team, for example for healing or because they want to go deeper with God. There are also specific ministry services approximately 3 times per year.
Healing Services are held quarterly on Sunday evenings at 6.30pm. Our Healing Prayer Team is led by Nigel Andrews, and all the members of his team are sensitive and experienced in this field.
Churches Together in Boston (CTIB)
Holy Trinity plays a full and active part in Churches Together in Boston (CTIB).
We share in a number of projects together, ranging from united services to the Street Pastors Scheme (for details see www.streetpastors.org.uk), from a regular ministers’ breakfast to a weekly soup kitchen for the homeless.
Our overriding goal is to ‘bless Boston’.
Centrepoint-Outreach
Centrepoint-Outreach (www.centrepoint-outreach.com) is a Christian charity based in Boston working with homeless and vulnerable people with social and economic needs from all walks of life.
Prison Fellowship
Four of the church family are members of Prison Fellowship, a national and international ministry. They meet once a month to pray for the various issues within the justice system. They also pray for the needs of the inmates and staff at the local prison. The group leader is a member of the Chaplaincy team at the prison. Although Prison Fellowship is primarily a prayer ministry, the whole group have been called to serve within the Prison.

Trinity Tots
This group is for both parents/carers and their pre-school-aged children and meets on a Wednesday. There are two sessions. The morning session runs from 9:15 am to 11:30 am and the afternoon session runs from 12:15 pm to 2:30 pm during term time in the Church Lounge. There is a large variety of toys for children to play with, weekly craft activities for children to enjoy and take home, optional singing and healthy snacks.
All parents, carers and children from the community are warmly welcome. Parents and carers find Trinity Tots to be a place where new friends can be made and real support found over a cup of tea or coffee.
Pop-In
This is an informal group open to everyone which meets on Monday afternoons in the Church Lounge (except Bank Holidays) between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm. A cup of tea and biscuits are available as are scrabble, dominoes and the like. Once a month the meeting includes a brief time of worship. Transport can be provided for those who are unable to travel to church themselves For more details please contact Anne O’Connor via the church office.*
Women’s Circle
This group meets on the first and third Tuesday afternoon of the month in the Church Lounge and has a varied programme including spiritual themes and subjects of general interest.
Hear guest speakers, spend an afternoon with friends and catch up with each other, enjoy special trips out during the year and special worship services together.
Women's Circle meet from 2pm in the church lounge. Dorothy Goodwin will be your host for the afternoon and this year's dates are available from the Church Office.
Bible Reading
Scripture Union, along with other organisations, produces a range of notes which are designed to help people of all ages to gain a deeper understanding of the Bible from systematic reading. If you wish to order a set of notes, or find out more about what is available, have a word with Jane Perret on the bookstall.
Men’s Breakfast
Men's Breakfast provides an opportunity for men of all ages to get together for social events on a regular basis.
Despite the name - we intend to offer a variety of activities, including breakfasts (sometimes full English, others continental), Theme evenings (Ten-pin bowling, Pizza nights, pub quizzes, boat trips, etc.), and maybe other events such as pub lunches with walks, or working parties to get stuff done in and around the church.
Men's Breakfast events are a great way of getting to know other men in the church and to build up stronger friendships.
Please contact the Church Office on 01205 310221 for more details.
